An energetic CPG leader with over 20 years of experience, 12 years working with publicly traded companies, possessing an accomplished background of documented sales management results. Experienced in luxury goods, cosmetics, fashion accessories, infant/children, toys and decorative home. Dynamic self-starter has proven ability to increase company volume.

With a highly effective “get the job done” attitude, I am a PROVEN sales manager and have effectively “won” and navigated through a variety of sales CHANNELS, including specialty retail, department stores, mid-tier brick and mortar retailers, catalogs, drug stores, grocery, hardware, sporting goods and mass.

Chinese wholesaler working primarily with major key accounts (TJX, Burlington, At Home, etc.) needed a U.S. based Director of Sales to help establish rep groups calling on retail trade and be the U.S. face of the company.

  • Hired 10 strong rep agencies throughout the United States to represent the manufacturer with 98 reps and several brokers.
  • Introduced owner and e-comm managers in China to Amazon, Wayfair, Houzz and Walmart.com.
  • Handled all key accounts and managed customer relations team.
  • Brought DesignPac (1-800-Flowers, 1-800-Giftbaskets, etc.) in to the company which quickly became the largest customer.
  • Negotiated 5 year lease in AmericasMart (Atlanta) with 2500 square feet on the 14th floor, completely overseeing remodel and furnishing.

  • Recruited to reestablish the outside sales force for this company, which was the leader in the wine/liquor accessories category.
  • Sought out and hired 10 rep groups (104 reps) specifically working with like companies to make the transition easier.
  • Conducted onsite training seminars for reps in addition to monthly conference calls to introduce products answer questions, share success stories.
  • Worked closely with designers on new products.
  • Added $3.5 million to the bottom line first year. Managed Bed Bath & Beyond, Total Wine and HEB as personal key accounts.
  • Trained inside call center and customer service reps how to work with outside reps in order to make the integration into the company go more smoothly.
  • Hunted and brought major new key account business to the company: Hallmark Stores, JoAnn’s, Van Maur, United Supermarkets/Albertsons.

In charge of the gift division of the company.

  • Implemented a change in strategy for the company going from an internal sales department to independent rep groups.
  • Hired 14 new rep groups with 139 reps across the country, went out and worked with them one on one to train them, held follow up meetings, and made key account sales calls with the reps.
  • Tracked and analyzed sales, reviewing them weekly with the accounts. Attended all gift shows, and major promotional events.
  • Brought sales from a negative 37% to a positive increase of 12% in 8 months
  • Implemented a customer service rotation that sped up the return/damages process
  • Instrumental in the implementation of the Brandwise order processing system and contracting for new website developers.

Brought in as a consultant to introduce and develop two new brands, Baby Aspen and Kate Aspen, in the general gift industry. Parent company was Internet only entity with no gift industry experience.

  • Trained management, finance and customer service how to do business in specialty gift.
  • Worked in conjunction with marketing and product development on a sales strategy and product specifically for the gift industry.
  • Hired and trained 13 new U.S. rep groups with 150 reps, and a group in Canada with 18 independents.
  • Attended all trade shows in the U.S. and Canada including Stationary and ABC.
  • Volume of company: $25,000,000.00.
  • In 5 months doubled sales planned for 2011.
  • Exceeded budget for 2012, attaining +183% increase, causing the company to be out of stock from October 1 (but right on my forecast).
  • Hunted, strategized and opened key accounts the company had tried to interest for years: Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Belk, Things Remembered, Pier One, Hallmark and Indigo.
  • Secured January appointments with Francesca’s, Saks, Dillard Department Stores and Bloomingdale’s.
  • Secured FREE advertising for the company through personal contacts in the media.

  • Expertly handled all sales and marketing activities for a $15,000,000.00 tabletop company doing business in general gift, big box and mass channels.
  • Actively managed 14 U.S. rep groups with 140 reps, a key account rep for Walmart plus a Canadian and Australian distributor.
  • Attended all trade shows in the U.S. and abroad including Housewares and Camex.
  • Served as art licensing director securing well known artwork for use on the products.
  • Participated in marketing and product development meetings.
  • Pushed owners to expand product offering from absorbent coasters and trivets to a complete decorative kitchen assortment elevating us from Gift only to Decorative Gift and Tabletop insuring a 300% increase that year (apples to apples).
  • Sought out and developed key accounts Target, Cracker Barrel, Bed Bath, Kohl’s, Shopko, Menards.
  • Used networking skills to make sure we always topped all category charts in the media.
